Sumner William “Bill” Howard was born August 19, 1930 in Glen Arbor, Michigan to Sumner Howard and Ethel (McAlpine) Howard. He passed away November 30, 2016 at his home near Collins, Missouri.
He proudly served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army.
On January 31, 1955 he was united in marriage to Joan Elaine “Jackie” Bodi. Their early married life was spent in Michigan, later living in Arizona and the state of Washington. In 1985 they moved to Missouri and spent the last 31 years in Missouri.
Bill worked in the pilot program for the Fisher Body Division of General Motors. From 1956 to 1980 he worked as a brake press operator. Bill had many happy years flea marketing where he made many, many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Helen Bergman.
Bill is survived by his wife Joan “Jackie” Howard, of the home; 6 sons, Sumner Jack, Henry Starr, John William, Donald Ray, Billy Todd and Daniel Warren; 1 daughter, Susan Alaine Howard; numerous grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many friends.
