Obituary
David Lynn Stollings, 53, of Osceola, MO was born on September 24, 1956 in Cameron, MO and went home to the family farm in Polo, MO. He was the youngest of 3 sons of Wylie and Betty Sue Eaton Stollings. David passed away on April 18, 2010 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, MO.

On May 31, 1980 he was united in marriage to Carol Ann Cooper. This union was blessed with 3 children; Rachel, Ryan and Rebecca. David was a member of the First Baptist Church of Osceola.

He was a 19 year employee of USDA Farmers Home Administration. He began his career as a lending officer in several different north Missouri counties, later settling in St. Clair county as a county supervisor for the agency. He loved helping rural Missourians acquire homes and farmland. He was very passionate about his work only coming in second to his family. After leaving USDA in 1999 he continued to use his expertise by guiding his daughters in finding the best home loans. In the mid 90’s David pursued his dream of owning his own photography business. He made many new friends in several towns by photographing little league, soccer, basketball teams and family portraits.

David was an active member of the school, church and community. He alway volunteered for anything he could help with including participating on the school board and serving as a church trustee.

He was always supportive of the athletics his kids and kids friends were involved in. He could often be heard at basketball games yelling, “Put some sugar on it” or “Make it sweet and make it swoosh.” He was often seen giving young kids rides on his power chair. He might have also been spotted popping out of the brush at cross county and track meets to cheer on his team and catch the perfect snapshot. He loved children, especially his own.

David was preceded in death by his parents; Wylie and Betty Stollings; his father-in-law, Donald Cooper; sister-in-law, Coralie Carson Cooper and one nephew, Greg Cooper.

He is survived by his wife Carol, of the home; one son, Ryan C.
