Hazel Diane Wiley of Osceola, Missouri was born June 27, 1944 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Charles Reynolds and Viola Burdick Reynolds. She was the oldest child of two born to this union. She was raised by her maternal grandmother Hazel Purvis from a young age after her mother died. Hazel spent her young life in Ft. Worth and graduated Trimble Technical High School in 1962. She worked various jobs until she began her data entry/computer operator career at Bell Helicopter in Ft. Worth.
Hazel was married to Cecil Wiley of Sweet Home Oregon on May 24th, 1969. After a honeymoon in Oregon, they began their life together and had two sons, Wesley and Raymond. The two moved to Oregon, living in Lebanon and Albany where they stayed 29 years. She worked various jobs primarily as a data entry/computer operator. Spanning careers at Oregon State University and multiple insurance agencies. Hazel moved to Osceola, Missouri with her husband in 1998 after his retirement.
Hazel’s biggest passion in life was playing the piano. She was highly active in church and played the piano and/or organ at over a dozen churches in her lifetime. At times, being the Secretary and Treasurer as well. She volunteered her talents to many agencies over her lifetime. Two close to her heart—The Salvation Army and the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life. Locally, she was a dedicated supporter of West Central Community Action Agency, SAC-Osage Hospital, Osceola Senior Center, and Alice’s Closet, she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Clinton Chapter #73.
She was preceded in death by her mother Viola Reynolds in 1947; Father Charles Reynolds in 1978; Grandmother Hazel Purvis in 1991; and brother Lee Reynolds in 2007.
She is survived by Cecil, her husband of 46 years of Osceola, Missouri; Two sons, Wesley and his mate Margaret of Moberly, Missouri, Raymond and his wife Mary of Crane, Missouri; brother Jim Reynolds and his wife Jean of Lockhart, Texas; Sister Shirley Whittle and her husband Jerry of DeKalb, Texas; Sister Barbara Atkinson of Gainesville, Texas; brother Marvin Reynolds and his wife Regina of Springfield, Missouri; Grand-daughter Sara Wiley of Denver, Colorado; sister-in-law Betty James of Osceola, Missouri; many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and neighbors.
