In lieu of flowers the famiily suggests contributions to the Truman Lake Manor Nursing Home or the Alzheimers Association in care of the funeral Home.
Peggy Jean (Cross) Haverland passed away December 26, 2013. She was born March 15, 1933, near Collins, Missouri to Richard Floyd and Naomi Opal (Roberts) Cross, the second of four daughters.
When she was five her family moved to Vista where she lived most of her life. She graduated from Osceola High School and married George Edgar Haverland on July 1, 1951. They raised four children.
Peggy loved gardening, especially working with her flowers, cooking, needlework, and her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one sister Floi Dean Rhoden.
She is survived by her children, Pamela Haverland, Reston, VA; Eddie Kay Douglas and her husband Harold, Ozark, MO; Phillip Haverland, Unionville, MO; and Paul Haverland and his wife Sheree, Greenwood, MO; her grandchildren Eric Rainey and wife Jamie, Springfield MO; Peggy Katheryn (Katie) Douglas, Ozark, MO; Jenny Douglas, Los Angeles, CA; Harold Matthew (Matt) Douglas, Portland, OR, Nicolette Rahe and husband John, Weir, KS, and Father Nathan Haverland, Overland Park, KS; eleven great-grandchildren; her sisters, Wanda Gilbert, Springfield, MO and Phyllis Cross, Osage Beach, MO.
