He passed to his Heavenly home on April 9, 2013, at the age of 100 years, 3 months and 20 days. Accepting Jesus as his Savior in 1924, he was baptized in Coon Creek west of Collins. As a young boy, he worked alongside his father at their family blacksmith shop/livery stable where he developed a lifelong love and knowledge of horses. This love and knowledge he happily shared with family and friends throughout his lifetime. To this union five daughters were born: Betty Ray Disney Long (Alan, who preceded her in death; Jerry); Lindal Gibbens of Osceola; Teddie Farnsworth (Ed) of Jefferson City; Pat Cleveland (Mark); Kim Burton (Mike); Beth Garrison (Monty) all of Osceola. Ted was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Ray; an infant grandson, Jon David Long; his parents; four brothers: Harry, Johnny, Earl, and Cotton; and five sisters: Lula, Ina, Edith, Hazel, and Juanita. He is survived by LaVerne; remaining daughters; grandchildren: Matt Gibbens (Billie), LeaRae Porta (Brady), Trisha Farnsworth (Mark), Todd Farnsworth (Tracy), Tyler Farnsworth (Erin), Mandi Jones (Ryan), Sarah Campbell (Cody), Scott Brown (Carlie), Andi Brown (Josh), Stefan Garrison, Jordan Garrison, Linda Meador (Ron), Jackie Weaver, Stacey Alcocer (Andres) and Chris Burton; great-grandchildren: Caleb and Corey Gibbens; Logan, Coleman and Morgan Porta; Jackson, Anna and Ella Farnsworth; Kate and Avery Farnsworth; Quinten, Sabrina and Jocelyn Jones; Caden, Cyrus, and Brinley Campbell; Kaiya Smith; Brittany and Chaps Weaver; soon to arrive babies Brown, Farnsworth, and Campbell; great-great-grandchildren: Jaxton and Gunner Weaver; other relatives and many friends. He will always be loved and sadly missed by family and friends. Ted's spirit will be ever present each year at the Labor Day Rodeo which was one of the highlights of his year.
