Shelia “Dawn” Moudy, 64, Osceola, Missouri passed away July 5, 2012 at her home. She fought and survived many cancers over the past 34 years but lost the battle and no longer suffers. She retired from the USDA in Kansas City, Missouri after 25 years as a government employee. Shelia was a song writer and member of BMI (Broadcast Music Incorporated).
She is survived by her husband, John Moudy. They were married on September 16, 1977. There are three surviving children; John Moudy, Apopka, Florida, Kim Moudy, Kearney, Missouri and Sandra Diable, Osceola, Missouri. She is also survived by her loyal Brittany “Nellie Belle”.
She is survived by her brother, Robert Gwinn, Havelock, North Carolina and her sister, Margaret Dickerson, Harrisonville, Missouri. She has four surviving grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sandra “Babe” Gwinn and her brother Ralph “Buddy” Gwinn.
Dawn didn’t know the word stranger when it came to assisting people or animals that were hungry, abused or abandoned. Her wishes are that this be continued through donations in her honor.
