Obituary
Edward T. Stonebraker, age 89, of El Dorado Springs passed away May 26, 2012 at 89 years, 3 months and 13 days of age. He was born February 13, 1923 in Overland, MO, a suburb of St. Louis, to Morris E. and Mame (Robbins) Stonebraker.

He was the only one of nine children born outside of St. Charles, MO. When he was seven years old the family moved back to St. Charles on his motherís parents farm, a mile from the city limits. Her parents and two brothers all died within an eight month period.

Edward enjoyed life on the farm and his primary education at the one room school, a mile walk away. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1942. He then enlisted in the Army Air force in November 1942. He was stationed at the main air force plane repair depot in England and was discharged in February 1946 with the rank of Sgt.

His career in banking started with the Boatmenís National Bank of St. Louis and gained his banking education at night classes at St. Louis AIB School of Banking.

He was united in marriage to Elizabeth M. Sherman at All Saints Catholic Church in St. Peters, MO on September 19, 1950. To this union nine children, seven sons and two daughters were born.

He retired from banking in 1986, then for the next 10 years he managed the Milster Funeral Home as a funeral director until the business was sold.

Edward was also preceded in death by his parents, his siblings and one son, Peter C. Stonebraker. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth of the home, his children, Jerome Stonebraker, Olathe, KS, Fred Stonebraker, Silverthorne, CO, Laura Schuster and husband, Richard, Nevada, MO, Bill Stonebraker and wife, Cathy, Sheldon, MO; John Stonebraker, Overland Park, KS, Louise Routledge and husband, Ron, Brookfield, MO, Timothy Stonebraker and wife, Stephanie, Sun Prairie, WI and Edward Stonebraker, Jr. and wife, Zury, Harlingen, TX, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
