Obituary
Mick was born on January 18, 1939 at St. Maryís Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri to Glen and Clara Gover. At an early age, the family moved back to the Gover family farm just east of Osceola where Mick spent his childhood. He attended the one room school house at Bear Creek, then attended Osceola High School where he graduated in 1958.

After graduating high school, Mick left for Warrensburg, Missouri to attend Central Missouri State College. After his freshman year, he enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserves. Upon completion of his basic training, Mick took up residence in Independence, Missouri and enrolled in Kansas City Business College, where he graduated with honors, being the top student in his class. It was about this time that he started his tax preparation service that he continued for over 50 years.

After retiring in 1999, Mick moved back home to Osceola to be close to his parents, Glen and Clara and built his house next door. Being single, he never had a family of his own, so he looked forward to being able to help take care of his parents. When his father died in 2005, Mick became the primary care giver for his mother, Clara. The years that he spent back in Osceola, close to his parents, were the happiest of his life.

Mick was never much of an outdoors person. What he really loved to do was read. He was an avid reader of western novels and after reading the books, he would donate them to the Osceola Library. He loved listening to music and has an estensive library of LPís and CDís. Usually, while listening to his music, he would be working mind puzzles that kept his mind sharp.

Mick was preceded in death by his father Glen, his paternal grandparents Elmer and Lou Gover, his maternal grandparents Henry and Bell Scott, his uncles and aunts Frank and Dorothy Gover, Edwin and Minnie Gover, Woodrow and Willow Gover, Joe Scott, Jack and Lila Scott and Bob Watson.

He is survived by his mother, Clara Gover and brother, Dave Gover, aunts Gerry Watson and Betty Scott and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In the fall of 2011, Mick learned that his brother Dave was retiring and going to move back home. He looked forward to the time that they could finally do things together and was excited that he would be living right next door. He was a wonderful brother and son and will be greatly missed.
