Obituary
Frank (Frankie) Earl Doty, age 68, died March 2, 2019. The son of Frank and Winnie Doty, he was a lifelong resident of El Dorado Springs, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, and a graduate of the class of 1969. He had one sister and two nephews.

In his youth he ran a GRIT newspaper route, worked at Ben Alison’s service station, and for a time, at Witt Printing Company. In later years he worked for his parents at their nursery/landscaping business. Most recently he did loader work, using his skid loader, also various groundskeeping work around El Dorado Springs.

Three of his high school years were spent in the school band as a trumpet player. Canoeing and riding his motorcycles gave Frank much enjoyment, his “Guzzi” being his most treasured bike. During his time in the National Guard he received recognition as “Sharpshooter”.

Frank excelled at spelling and grammar. These attributes contributed to his ease in creating various writings. While working outside, music was usually playing from his truck radio, unfailingly tuned in to old rock and roll. Watching westerns, reading, mushroom hunting, and anything nature related were the simple pleasures that he was most drawn to. Tacos (the hotter the sauce the better), held a special fondness, fried crappie and bluegill running a close second. He was not one to engage in gossip. Any confidence entrusted to him, would most assuredly, go no further.

Frankie, as those of us who have known him for years call him, lived a life of quiet simplicity. Due to this characteristic his wishes were to be cremated and no formal service.
