Obituary
Doris M. “Patch” Turley was born to Earl Foster and Bertha C(Caskey) Foster on March 24, 1929 in Hays, Kansas. She passed away December 18, 2018 at her home in Lowry City, Missouri.

Patch graduated 8th grade from the same one room school house as 5 generations of her family before her. She graduated from Ellis High School, Ellis, Kansas in 1947. She later attended the University of Georgia, studying business phycology. After High School she moved to Hollywood, California and was a successful fashion model for Adrian of Hollywood, designer for the stars.

In 1949 she moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she met and married Wayne Turley. To this union two sons were born, Gene and Marvin. She later moved to Arizona where she met and married Edward Bosier.

While in Arizona she worked as a Jr. Accountant for a large cotton farming operation and custom home developer. She retired from there and moved to Lowry City, Missouri in 1989. However, inactivity was never in Patch’s blood so she went to work for Earlene Nall as a bookkeeper. She then went to work for Kevin Barnes at the Patio as a cook and waitress. These two endeavors took up the next 20 years. Again, she retired, but not for long as she started taking in sewing for the local residents. Patch was a very fine seamstress as many can attest.

Her hobbies included bowling and was a 60 plus year member of the Women’s International Bowling Congress. She was inducted into the Women’s Bowling Hall of Fame in 1995.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and her son Gene.

Patch is survived by 1 son, Marvin (Penney) of Osceola, Missouri; 1 grandson, July (Charisa) of Goodyear, Arizona; 2 granddaughters, Serra Ann Melton of Mayer, Arizona and Dani of Conway, Washington; 6 great-grandchildren, 2 cousins and a host of friends.
