Obituary
Patricia Ann Adrian was born September 28, 1931 to Gilbert R. and Altheda M. Blackwell in St. Louis, MO. She had one older brother, Don G. Blackwell.

She departed this life on Thursday, July 26, 2018 at Community Springs Healthcare in El Dorado Springs, MO surrounded by her family.

She was married to the love of her life, Walter Joseph Adrian on October 14, 1950. They made their home in St. Louis. The joy of their life was their family of 8 children! Pat was a stay at home mother and was kept very busy raising the children. They moved the family to Kansas City in 1959 for Joe’s work. In 1963, they moved to Osceola to help Pat’s parents with their farm. In 1965 they lived for a year in Clinton, as Joe began his career with Combined Insurance. 1966 found them living in Washington, MO where they made their home until 1972 when Joe was transferred to Denver, CO for 2 years.

Joe retired, and they returned “home” to Osceola in 1975 to finish raising the family. As the children left home, Pat worked at Carney’s Grocery, and then operated a small hamburger/ice cream shop, D & J Drive-In south of Osceola for a short time. She opened and ran Adrian’s Variety Store on the square in Osceola for 15 years.

When they retired they traveled in their RV extensively and enjoyed “dancing the night away”.

Pat was a devout Catholic and member of St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, helping with the Altar Society and yearly Strawberry Festival. Of late, she has enjoyed playing dominoes with the gang on Monday’s at River Crossing Senior Center.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joe, her parents, brother, and grandson Gilbert.

She is survived by her 8 children: Connie Garland and husband Mike of St. Augustine, FL, Tom and wife Glenda of Labadie, MO, Jeff and wife Terry of Westminster, CO, Karen Knight and husband Fred of Osceola, MO, Anne Nitsche and husband Herman of Appleton City, MO, John and wife Jeri Kay of Osceola, MO, Larry of Osceola, MO and Tony and wife Leslie of Columbia, MO; 25 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and many friends. Pat will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

"For we know that if the earthly house in which we dwell be destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made by human hands, eternal in the heavens."
