Obituary
Gladys Eveline Suiter McLerran of Yukon, OK, was born August 3, 1918, in Benton County (Wisdom, MO) to Luther and Minnie (Duke) Suiter. She had six siblings: Ruth, Belvard “Jarvo”, Boyd, Cletus “Pete”, Grace, and Joyce. Her nickname was Nanny to all who knew her when she was young.

When she was a teenager, she asked Jesus Christ to be her Savior and gave her heart to God at the Mt. Olive Church near Wisdom, MO, and later was sanctified in that same church.

On January 29, 1937, she married Samuel Arthur McLerran in Clinton, MO. A few days after they married, they traveled by train to Wallace, Idaho, where they lived for several years. To this union were born two sons, Gaylord Keith and Arnold Dennis.

As a pastor’s wife for many years she cooked countless meals for people, often at a moments notice. Guests would regularly come and stay several days to enjoy her hospitality. People still recall how good the food and fellowship was.

Gladys worked hard from the time she was a young girl until she was physically unable in her later years. One of her distinctive talents throughout her married life was keeping a home beautiful and inviting. She was generous with her love, time, and often gave unique and special gifts. Many people benefited from her generosity.

Gladys moved to Mustang, OK, after the death of her husband Sam, and lived with Gaylord and Ramona until her health failed. She lived her final years at Gran Gran’s Place in Yukon, OK, where she was loved dearly by all who cared for her.

Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, two sisters, three brothers, and her daughter-in-law, Ramona. She is survived by her sons Gaylord “Mac”, Mustang, OK, and Arnold (Nevva) Greenville, SC; five grandchildren, Doug, Don, Sharon Jackson, Lori Gentry, and Andrea LeConey; ten great grandchildren, two great-great grandsons; one sister, Joyce (McLerran) Scott, and two sisters-in-law, Christine (Suiter) Howard and Laverne McLerran; many nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
