Obituary
David Lee Clegg was born in Independence, Mo on February 28, 1959 to Vernon A. and Betty Lou Clegg. He passed away October 19, 2017 at his home. He attended school in Independence, Missouri until moving to Osceola, Missouri where he attended Osceola High School for 3 years, then finished his senior year at Truman High School in Independence, Missouri. He met his wife Julia Ann Redburn in Osceola in 1983. He married Julia with her two sons Michael Jaison Nixon and Jacob Thomas Nixon on September 9, 1989. He was honored with a grandson, Taylor Jai Nixon in 1999.

He worked as a Journeyman Electrician for several years until he became disabled. David and Julia moved several places in Missouri during the time he worked, but finally settled in Branson, Missouri. He loved to fish, running trout lines with his grandfather, spoonbill fishing with his friends, any kind of fishing. His favorite fishing after he was disabled was fly fishing at Taneycomo in Branson with his fly fishing buddies. He learned and taught his grandson how to make fly’s. He shared his love of fishing with anyone who would listen. All of us who got to share these times with David will remember those timie with a warm heart.

David was preceded in death by his father, Vernon A. Clegg; grandmother, Martha Mitchell, grandfather, Edward Sweeney, grandmother, Elsie Drake Sweeney and uncles, Marion Sweeney and Ray Sweeney.

He is survived by his wife Julia Ann Clegg of Branson, Mo; stepsons, Michael Jaison Nixon of Kansas City, Ks and Jacob Thomas Nixon of Kansas City, Ks; grandson, Taylor Jai Nixon of Branson, Mo; mother Betty Lou Clegg of Osceola, Mo; cousin Lee Sweeney, Grain Valley, Mo and Twilia Sweeney in Mo; also his family Lisa, Jan, Bucky, Lynn, Wayne, Mary Jo, Jeffery, Jody and all his nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews and cousins.

David was a loving son, father, grandfather, husband, brother and friend. He will be missed by all who loved him and knew him.
