Obituary
Gerald G. Brown of El Dorado Springs, MO passed away at home surrounded by family on June 1, 2017. He was born October 7, 1926 in Beaver County, OK, the second son of Glenn and Georgia (Owens) Brown. The family moved out of the Oklahoma dust bowl to Missouri in 1934.

Gerald attended school through the eighth grade at the Oak Ridge School near Portia, MO and graduated from El Dorado Springs High School in 1943. In January 1945, he joined the U.S. Army where he served as a Tech 4 primarily in Japan until his discharge in November 1946. He hired on with Mid-America Dairymen in January 1949 where he worked until his retirement in December 1988.

He married Ruth Mullins on August 11, 1950 and they had five children over the next twelve years.

Gerald enjoyed his farm, hunting, fishing and traveling. His greatest joy in life was his family; his wife of almost sixty-seven years, five children, eleven grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a myriad of others who claimed him as Grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, David and Ray; and three grandsons, Jerry Brown, Jr., Gary Brown and Tim Cooper.

Gerald is survived by his wife, Ruth; sons Jerry (Darcy) of Sarcoxie, Tom (Marie) of Lebanon, and Brian (Lisa) of El Dorado Springs; two daughters, Jo Cooper of Pleasant Hill and Leslie Fincher (Glenn) of Greenfield; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; two sisters, Marvelene (Roy) Dennis and Darlene Anderson; many nieces and nephews.
