Obituary
Clarice June was born December 8, 1938 to Hardin Rodger and Edna Magadeline (Johnson) Hammond on their farm near Chalk Level, Missouri. She passed away at her home in Osceola on April 4, 2017.

She accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized in the Baptist faith. Clarice graduated from Lowry City High School in 1957. She married the love of her life Gerald (Buck) Foster on February 22, 1957 at the Methodist parsonage in Lowry City.

Clarice and Buck were the proud parents of four children; Lila Katheline, Rose Marie, Everett Hardin and Melanie June.

She and Buck farmed in the Lowry City area for several years. Clarice always had a large garden and was the family seamstress. She created many one of a kind dresses for her three daughters and also received ribbons for her canned produce at various fairs. In later years Clarice had various jobs in sales, as a caregiver and worked twelve years at West Central MO CAA.

Her love of sewing and creating also led to a side career of crafting and selling handcrafted dolls which she displayed at area craft shows. Clarice was one of the founders of the Osceola Arts and Crafts Festival and was proud of the community’s ability to showcase handcrafted items. She was also a founding member of the St. Clair Co Quilt Guild. Clarice served on the St. Clair Co Food Banc Board for several years. She loved to sing and play the piano.

Clarice is preceded in death by her husband Buck, son Everett, her parents and infant brother. Clarice is survived by Lila and Melanie of Osceola, Rose and her husband Dr. Charles Massengill of California, Missouri, daughter-in-law Yumi and three granddaughters, Emily June, Nami Olivia and Emma Grace of Wichita, Kansas, her sister Magadeline Gurley of Lowry City, and several nieces and nephews.
