In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorial contributions to the Lowry City Cemetery Fund in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.
Ina May Mayer was born August 31, 1930 to Walter M. Witham and Edna T. (Scott) Witham in Iconium, Missouri. She passed away January 22, 2017 at Colonial Springs Healthcare in Buffalo, Missouri.
She was raised in the Lowry City area and married James Leonard Mayer on August 30, 1945. This union was blessed with 4 children, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her early married life was devoted to raising her children. As the children got older she worked several years as a cashier at Rameys Grocery and several convenience stores. Her life was then changed to be a full time caretaker for her sick husband. After he passed she stayed at home and enjoyed quilting and embroidery.
Ina was preceded in death by her husband, James Mayer along with her daughter and son-in-law, Rena May and Roy O. McCaskey from Chillicothe, Illinois.
She is survived by 3 sons, James L. Mayer, Jr. and wife Sue and family of Springfield, Missouri, Jack D. Mayer and wife Vicki and family of Rockport, Missouri, Ed E. Mayer and wife Lora and family of Louisburg, Missouri and her only sister, Rena Janine Foster and family of Clinton, Missouri.
